I think a lot of us women have heard of Latisse, or bimatoprost ophthalmic solution to get all fancy and proper. The stuff makes your lashes grow super long. But it’s also expensive and is technically an eye medication meant for glaucoma that reduces ocular pressure, can cause redness, irritation, and even the darkening of your iris. Hmm, no thanks.
The good news is that there are so many natural and organic beauty companies popping up lately – which is something I am truly stoked on. The newest one I’ve had the pleasure of trying hails from Vancouver, and makes a natural and organic lash tonic that helps to promote the growth and thickening of eyelashes and eyebrows. Uh, yes please.
Founder Mia Fiona Kut created Luna Nectar to provide a low-cost alternative that was also safe, stating:
“I created this all-natural lash and brow enhancing formula after seeing family members and friends use harmful chemical serums and eyelash extensions that came with many negative and harmful side effects, including eczema on a loved one’s eyelids. I found a void in the market where existing lash serums were either full of chemicals, very overpriced, or some claiming to be all-natural, when in fact they were not.”
So does it work? I tried Luna Nectar for 4 weeks to see for myself. The photo below was taken before I started using the serum.
And here is what my lashes looked like 4 weeks after starting to use the product once a day before bed:
Did I notice a difference? Definitely! Was it as extreme as what I’ve seen on other people who have used Latisse? No. Do I care? Not one bit. I’d much rather use a product that is safe and see good results than use a potentially harmful one that causes great results. Not to mention the price difference. Luna Nectar only costs $75 per bottle which lasts up to 3 months (Latisse is typically over $100 for a one month supply).
