Are you craving to be your own boss and pursue freelancing or self-employment full-time? Or maybe you’re stuck in a 9-5 that is just draining the life out of you. Sure you know that working for yourself comes with its own set of drawbacks such as working insanely long hours, no medical benefits, and a lack of guaranteed income, but you also know that working for yourself will give you the freedom and control you’ve been craving to have in your life.
I’ve always known that I wanted to be self-employed in some way, shape, or form, ever since I was a kid. This desire and drive never left me, so at the not so tender age of 27, I finally took the plunge. And I couldn’t be happier that I did.
Knowing what I wanted was the easy part, but actually taking the action to make it happen was incredibly difficult. Almost debilitating at times. This is why I want to share with you the things I did before I quit my job. The things that finally got me past the point of fear so that I could take action.
Once you’ve had a chance to check out the video above, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. What is holding you back? Or if you’re already freelance or self-employed, what was your tipping point that finally propelled you into action?
Thanks for reading!
Hi Caley,
Great Video! Can you please share the links to the support groups you mentioned in the video? Thanks.
Hi Alina! Really glad you enjoyed it! Here is one of my favourites, by the Bucketlist Bombshells: https://www.facebook.com/groups/bucketlistbombshellstribe/. And here is another one in my local community that I love (only useful if you’re in Vancouver though): https://www.facebook.com/groups/vancitybusinessbabes/. There are also many Facebook Groups that are profession specific, I’d recommend doing a relevant search within Facebook to find the ones that are best suited to you. Cheers!
